A global day of civet celebration

Our aim:
World Civet Day is a celebration of civets, oyans and genets. Together, we will raise awareness of these often overlooked species and highlight the fundamental role they naturally play in protecting the health of wildlife, people and the planet. By celebrating civets we will instill unwavering pride in civet species and collectively commit to their protection!

Collaborative Conservation
Our regional approach to World Civet Day 2026 will speak to the issues facing civets and local communities. We will inspire human-civet coexistence through greater understanding of the connection between the health of civets, the environment and humans. Everyone has a role to play.

Impact
Across Asia, civets are commercially traded for civet coffee, luxury meat and as pets. These trades pose great risk to civet conservation, civet welfare, and human health. Civets play a fundamental role in environmental, animal and human health when they are allowed to live free in the wild. Civet trade disrupts the natural balance between civets, the environment and people. This disruption can lead to the emergence of disease which puts everyone at risk. All funds raised on World Civet Day 2026 will go directly towards our 'Civet One Health' program, where we are working to protect civets from trade in Vietnam.
