What to Expect?
World Civet Day, launching for the first time on 4th April 2024, will raise awareness of civet species. By harnessing the collective communication power of animal welfare and conservation NGOs, zoological collections, schools, colleges, and universities, World Civet Day will spread key educational messages concerning civets and the threats they face.

Why 4th April?

The 4th April is the same date that the worlds first conservation action plan for the endangered Owston's civet (Chrotogale owstoni) was signed. This date is therefore a spring board for positive change for civet species across their home ranges.

Where will World Civet Day take place?

We're hosting World Civet Day in connection with our partners across the world. We'll be sharing content on social media, and hosting events in zoos, colleges, universities, and online.
